Advancers Propel Indices

A block trade in the shares of Ecobank Transnational incorporated was one of the highlights of today’s trading activity. The market indices closed higher on the back of gains in four equities.

Ecobank Ghana led gainers rising by 18GHp to GH¢9.21. This represents a gain of 1.99% over the opening price of GH¢9.03.

 

Enterprise Group followed, clawing back 9GHp to GH¢1.74 from GH¢1.65. Two equities gained 2GHp each; Fan Milk Ltd and CAL Bank Ltd  closed trading at GH¢5.57 and GH¢1.10 from GH¢5.55 and GH¢1.08 respectively.

 

On the other hand, three equities headed southwards; Starwin Products trimmed a pesewa to end the day at 3GHp; GCB Bank and Standard Charterd Bank shaved 2GHp and 12GHp to GH¢4.98 and GH¢20.00 respectively.

 

Volume and turnover were lifted by trades in the shares of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated. In all a total of 1.89million  shares valued at GH¢713,605 were exchanged in sixteen equities.

 

The Composite Index gained 10.3 points to 2,367.14, representing a year to date change of 4.69%.

 

The Financial Index (FI) also inched up by 14.33 points to close at 2,423.32 with a year-to-date return of 8.01
